Legend has it that DJ Kodiak was born in Foshan on the ninth day of the ninth month of the eighty-eighth year of the reign of Emporer Daoguang. When he was five he began his study of DJing and martial arts. Kodiak become adept at using weapons such as the turntables and the MPC and soon after stories began circulating about his mastery of these weapons. To supplement his poor family's income, he travelled to Guangdong Province to do martial arts performances and drop heavy sets. He was known to state the names of the techniques while fighting
